Angora Springs

This farm crawl we are celebrating the beginning of the cooler weather with a demonstration of sheep shearing by expert shearer Brad Comfort.  The animals are shorn in the fall to allow them to grow some wool back before the winter comes. 

We will have examples of the wool freshly shorn for people to touch  as well as wool that is washed and made into rovings and yarns.

We will have two weaving looms set up for people to try the craft of weaving with a combination of wool and cottons along with a demonstration of the ancient art of spinning.

The picnic area will be set up with needle felting on wool  and kids and parents will have the opportunity to try this fascinating craft. Needles are sharp so we will ask that parents  supervise their children while engaged in the craft .

More woolen items from our sheep will be available to purchase including needle felting kits, rovings, woolen dryer balls and beautifully dyed yarns!

Home crafted rhubarb ginger and raspberry freezer  jams from our fruits will be available again for purchase -  and are available to taste.

Depending on Mother Nature we may be able to offer pick your own raspberries.

Our horse will be available to visit and pat, our free range  chickens will be milling about , happy to take a piece of bread from you, and of course our sheep and angora goat will welcome you to our farm!

In the shop, you'll find a curated selection of artisanal lavender products—including live lavender plants—and refreshing treats available during each Farm Crawl event.

Meet the Highland cattle - Mazie and Rosie, Heritage chickens, babydoll sheep and the honey bees.

Aromatherapy and candle-maker Divine Time Wellness will provide demonstrations from 10:30 to 11:30 and from 1:30 to 2:30pm.

A local musician will be playing off and on throughout the day

Lavender distillation will take place all day.

Lost Mile Barn

• A big Farm Crawl Hamilton welcome to our new farm member, Lost Mile Barn, one of the farms on the September 19 Crawl.  LMB is located on the outskirts of Ancaster, just five minutes from the Ancaster Fairgrounds.​

• Lost Mile is excited to offer the following engaging activities throughout the day:

• Lost Mile Unplugged: Studio Sessions & Sounds: Experience 30 minutes of live music in our event space, followed by an exclusive tour of our recording studio. (Featured artist to be announced!)

• Farm-to-Table Demo and Sampling: A 15-minute sampling session featuring seasonal produce, where guests can learn about the sourcing and journey of starting a bakery from the farm to their plate.

• Meet the Farm Animals: A 10-minute interactive session where visitors can learn about the farm's animals, their roles on the farm, and basic animal care.

• Butter Road Bakery Farm Stand: Purchase fresh-from-the-oven bakery items.​

Liberty Way Farm 

• Liberty Way is offering a fun, interactive activity for the family:​  LITTLE FARMER’S QUEST.

• Walk around the farm to meet the animals.

• Lunch food items (TBC) will be availalbe for purchase and will feature “pasture raised meat from the farm”

• Check out the Farm Shop for produce and much more!

Manorun Organic Farm

• Tour the permaculture field with hourly wagon rides and learn about the Oak Savannah with farmer Chris.                              

• Kids fun tent and pony grooming demonstrations throughout the day.            

• Spend time with the pasture raised livestock.   

• Nut Munching with the pigs in the forest.   ​

• Have you ever visited a farm where there is a field full of flowers?  It's just gorgeous.  And all the flowers are just waiting to smile for you.  For you to pick your own.  Your own colour, your own design, your own choice.

• Or wander and enjoy 2 acres of display perennial gardens. It doesn't matter what your gardening expertise is, we have something for you!

• At Lotsa Hostas our gardening mantra is:  low to no maintenance!

Jerry's Berries

• The bees pollinate the raspberries.  We feed the bees with the nectar of our flowers.     

• Honey bee observation hive is open from 10 a.m. - 2 pm

• Josip, our expert bee keeper will provide a small demo and answer any of your questions.

Maple Ridge Acres

It’s September, and our alpaca fibre is on its way to Canadian mills to be made into this winter’s socks, yarn, and insoles.
